On behalf of Expert Village, my name is Tom Roland here at Cottonwood Motor Sports and I am here to tell you about doing service on a Polaris Quad and this is a fairly representative of macho, many of them. On a Polaris, a lot of the Polaris' have a back up rope starter and you want to make sure that you can pull this rope out and you can check it. When you do and it comes out wet, there could be water inside of it and you want to make sure that this is seated against the cover which helps to keep the water and anything from getting inside. But if you pull this out and it has water or oil on it, then the cover here needs to be drained. There is a drain on the bottom of it to get moisture out of it. Another thing they have back in between the motor and the transmission, is a big red plug on a hose coming out of the bottom of the air box and that hose is a drain for the air box. If the air box gets full of water, all you have to do is pull that plug out and whatever is in the air box, most of it will run out the bottom and then if you get caught in water or submerged or whatever, that would be something you have to do is get the water out of the air box. It also helps if you are trying to clean the air box because you can pull that out and you can wash it and it will all run out.
