"Now I'm going to install this pedal this one that I have is a left pedal so I would show you here on this left cranker that I have. So you can imagine that my right cranking is over here this is my left crank arm and now I'm rotating around so you look at the threads we see the threads on the right and left pedals are actually different. With the left pedal you move it forward so the rotation on the bike over here on the left side of the bike will be moving it forward. So just like the bottom bracket cups are threaded differently so are the pedals. And you think about it moving backwards takes them off, moving forward puts them on with your tool. So that kind of makes since cause you don't want to be unscrewing when you are pedaling and you pedal forward. So now that I have everything thread in I take my pedal wrench this one has both a 15 millimeter wrench flat which is the size every high end pedal is and a 9/16 flat which is pedals are less expensive bikes are. Put my wrench on and rotate it around oops I rotated it backwards because I things turned around but so now things are nice and tight and I used my wrench to get you know the optimal tightness which is insulated and we talked about a lot 40 newton meters which is basically you tighten it up, snuggle it up so it doesn't move you don't use excessive force and you don't use a air tool or anything like that you just throw it on. Now you swapped your pedals."
