"Hi, I'm Susan Paxton for Expert Village and today we're talking about potpourri and some of the things that you can do with it, some of the things that you can add to make your own potpourri. One of the things that I like to use once in a while is oils that actually have a fragrance to them. This one is actually lavender oil, so I'm not going to add any lavender oil today because we have plenty of scent from our lavender, our fresh lavender. Oils come in many different fragrances. You can actually use one of your favorite perfumes. Maybe for a man's, a more masculine scent you can use an aftershave lotion or something like that to add to your potpourri so that you have your favorite scents available all the time. Usually you only have to use a couple of drops, it's very strong, very full of odor, very full of fragrance. And of course you don't ever want to take it internally. But you can, some of the other fragrances that I've used are actually rose oils and then sometimes the citrus oil if I hadn't had citrus peel or anything to add a zest to potpourri."
