Video Transcript

"Hi! I'm Sean with Expert Village and I'm going to show you tips and tricks for doing math in your head. Doing math in your head is always easier when working with multiples of 10. This method will show you to turn your equation into multiple of 10 so you can solve it easily. For our example, let's take 4x67. 4x67 is a little hard to deal with, so let's make that 67 into a 70 by rounding it up. 4x70=280. Now, we had to add 3 to 67 in order to round it up to 70, so we want to take that 3 and multiply that by 4 to see how much we went over. 3x4=12. Now we take 280 and subtract it by the amount we went over, which is 12. Our answer is 268. Whenever you're doing math in your head, the most important part is being able to visualize the numbers. The more you practice, the better you're going to get."
