How to Tie a Release Hitch Knot

"Now this is the Release Hitch. Usually top loaded as it?s referred to. I'm going to show you down here. This is a caver's and climbers special here. And I wouldn't use either one of these ropes for caving or climbing. I really don't do that. But talk to someone before you attempt this. What I'm going to do, is I'm going to pull my line down here, as you can see, I've just got a couple of figure of eight knots put into both sides of this rope here. What I'm going to do, is I'm going to pull this line up here like so. Then I'm going to come down and I'm going to wrap this. Actually, I'm going to pull a little bit more up here. And then wrap this around the inside here. Move this down some. And through. And we're going to make quite a few loops in here. As you can see, my line is all ready starting to tangle and bind on me. Just pull, just a little bit more length from this one. Pull my loops, because I want to get a good number of loops in this. I don't want this to be some small knot. This has got to hold my weight, or whatever weight it is that I'm carrying up or down the side of a cliff. As you can see I pull these knots through, and I want to make sure that these are not coming over one another. This is going to be very important that these are very strait. As you see I pull down on this and this will bind this will bind these up really nice. Creating kind of like a blood knot effect, in a sense. There you go."
