"An anchor bend is how the name applies, was used by seaman back in the day, whenever the were needing to tie ropes to an object or a loop. Also the name is misleading because it calls it a bend. Which is not really true, it?s actually a hitch. But if we look down here you can see that I have my post setup to what we're going to use here. We're going to take my line that I have here, and my working end. And we'll bring it over. Let's bring a little bit more line out here, so that I have a little bit extra to work with. Bring it over once, and then we'll bring it over a second time. You'll notice that I kept a little bit of a loop here. What's going to happen is that I'm going to bring my rope over and through. Creating almost a cow hitch, basically. As I pull this, we'll pull this tight. Now this is all right, but it?s not really as secure as we need it, but what you'll do, is you bring it back around again for another half hitch. Tightening it up, making it very secure. As you you can see here, let's look at the other side of that. That's the way it?s supposed to look. And there you go, and anchor bend."
