"Hi, this is Mark Kneeskern on behalf of Expert Village and in this clip, I'm going to show you how to sketch out your idea for screen printing. First just start drawing. It doesn't matter what you draw just as long as you keep drawing and just keep drawing ideas as fast as they come into your head and do them really fast and loose at first. And when you start getting closer to what you think is going to be your final idea, you can start drawing more precisely and developing it further. One thing you need to keep in mind is this is going to need to be a very graphic design because you're going to be cutting it out of newspaper and so you don't want it to be too complex and you can't have shading in this either, in this kind of screen printing. The final sketch should be basically pieces, you should think of the pieces that you're going to have to cut out of the newspaper. This is probably the most important and time consuming part of screen printing. Your design determines the effectiveness of the screen print. You can't spend too much energy on this. It's very important. You'll find your own style as you go along, just keep working and you will find it. And this is how you sketch out an idea for screen printing."
