"Hi! I'm Karina Fraley for Expert Village, and we are making our yarn doll. The first step is the body. Basically, you're going to take your surface. I chose a surface about 16 inches. Again, something that can support having 200 rounds of yarn wrapped around it. If you use a thin cardboard like we're going to use for the hair, it might bend a little bit. Then you're going to end up with uneven ends. I chose that and I've already started wrapping it around. I have about 25 more rounds to go. We're just going to keep going. You can see that even though this is a hard plastic lid, it is sort of bending a little bit, so you are going to want to remember to use something that's going to support the weight of that. Then we're just going to cut that. You're going to take about a 6 inch piece of yarn, and just feed it underneath like this underneath your yarn. Then just slide it up to the top like that. Then you're going to tie it nice and tight before you slide the entire piece off of the surface like that. Make sure it's tight, and then you're going to slide the whole piece off of your surface. There you go. Then you're going to hold it at the top. You're going to take your scissors, and at the bottom where it bends, you're just going to cut straight through using some nice sharp scissors. It's a lot of yarn to get through. This is the beginning of the body."
