Video: How to Trim the Top of a Clay Teapot

Alright now that I've made the lid, I've trimmed the lid, I've added the knob, I want to check and see that it fits on my teapot. And that's got a nice snug fit. That's great. Now the teapot itself looks like it needs a little bit of trimming down here and I left the bottom flat so I really don't need to go back in and trim that. But I could trim here, so I could take my regular trim tool, not the wooden knife, but the actual metal trim tool, this is attached to the batt still. And I'm going to just trim off some excess down there. Really going to take a good look at that from the side and see if I have it flowing the way I want it to. You can see I'm making, creating like a little curve in there on the foot and that's making it a little bit kind of uplifted. OK I'm going to work my way up just too about there and lighten up. Alright, now I'm going to take my wire that has a bit of texture on it and pull it through. Pick it up and get a look at the bottom. It's got a little bit of a texture on it, because I ended up, I did pull it through earlier and I just tried pulling it through again. So I'm showing a little bit of some excess clay in spots so I'm just going to smooth that out a little bit.
