"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Nicole, and I'm here to tell you about iguanas. It's important to keep your iguana's cage clean. You want to keep it free of shed skin, and free of feces. To clean your cage, you might want to take out all the artificial plants, all the things that you have in there for your iguana and just soak them in a solution. Do not use bleach. You can, but you would have to dilute it to the very slightest degree. I don't recommend using bleach at all. Your local pet store should carry some sort of terrarium cleaner, such as this one: wipe out. This is what I use on my terrariums. This one is not so easy because it's made from wood but haven't had to treat for mites, or ticks or anything yet. This cage is good until it comes down to that. But you want to make sure the cage is free of the feces, remove those on a pretty regular basis. You want to make sure that plants are arranged and held in place so they can't drag them across. A lot of artificial plants will, they have wires inside of the stems, and to allow for movement. But if these plants are dragged back out or played with too much, then the wires can become exposed and cause a hazard to your iguana. "
