"On behalf of Expert Village I'm Nicole and I'm here to tell you about Iguanas. The growth process of Iguanas actually pretty complexed despite the fact that it may feel like it takes for ever for your Iguana to get big. He's actually progressing quiet quickly, at birth Iguanas are about 7-10" in length total body length and by the time they are 6 months old they will double that. By the time they are 15 months old they have tripled that, at 3 years old a Iguana is considered full matured. Now that doesn't mean that they stop growing at 3 years old the Iguana should way 2 1/2" pounds is about average for a 3 year old Iguana. But they can gain up to a pound a year some males have been known to get up to 18 pounds, the average weight of an Iguana is about 10-15 pounds. The females tend to stay lower to the 10 pound area, the males tend to get up to 15 pounds and more."
