"On behalf of Expert Village, I'm Nichole, here to tell you about Iguanas. When you are choosing an Iguana, as far as personality goes, your probably going to want to choose a female. They tend to be less aggressive, especially during breeding season the males can be very aggressive. And also, males tend to be more aggressive towards female owners. Such as this guy, I am giving him this towel to bite, he wants to bite me, so I am trying to let him relieve some of the aggression he has got. The female Iguana would definitely be a better pet, especially if you do not have as much room for the cage, the females do not require as much space since they do not get as large. So this is a male, and I will tell you the reason he is a male. This crest right here is becoming more and more prominent with his age, this guy is two and a half years old. He also has the enlarged jowls coming right here, they are not very obvious at this point in his age, but if you can kind of see the how this protrudes right here, this is going to grow along with the male as he gets older. By the time he is three or three and a half years old, these will be pretty prominent, along with this crest. Males also get a prominent crest, right here, on the base of their tail. This guy will get it probably in another six months this will probably start forming up a little bit more. "
