Cleaning a Skimmer Basket in a Jacuzzi

"Hi, this is Francisco Cales from Tampa, FL with Pool Inspectors on behalf of Expert Village. Our theme today is basic spa maintenance. After skimming the surface of the water it is necessary to actual on a weekly basis, depending on if you have a screened enclosure like we do here, or if it?s open air you need to clean your skimmer basket; without influence, as in filtration of our pool. In your basket is cover water will not be able to get to the pump and water will not be able to return to your pool. To clean the skimmer basket, go ahead and pop up this circular cover here. Stick your hand down, pull out the basket and clean out any leaves and debris you might find in your pool. This particular situation because of our screen enclosure we don?t have any small animals or toys in this area in here but the purpose of your skimmer is exactly as the name says it is to skim across the top of the water so that the leaves and debris don?t fall down into your plaster so the more we can pull out before it reaches the bottom the better."
