Video Transcript

"Hi! My name is Greg Ellsworth and on behalf of GME Massage, we're here filming a video for expertvillage.com. Next, we're going to talk about what is the breakdown of a seated massage. What is the point and the emphasis that you try to reach while giving a seated massage. The massage structure is in 3 major points. A slow therapeutic beginning. You transfer into a deeper therapeutic middle and an energizing fast pace end. Beginning off, you start off with introducing your touch to your client. You let them know that they're in a safe environment and that nothing will happen to them as their eyes are closed and they're relaxing on the chair. Second, you get into the knots or the places that are trouble areas of the body. You start working them with your hands and making sure that they're relaxed enough that when they get off the table, they won't have any pain ailments, because that is the goal. At the end, you end with an energizing finish so that when they get off the chair, they're not groggy, they're not disoriented and they have a hard time transferring back into the work place environment. You do a little bit faster movements on the body to wake them up and get the blood flowing to the point where they're a little bit more able to go back and sit at the computer and do what they need."
