Iron-on transfers are a great way to customize or personalize a t-shirt, denim jacket, or any piece of fabric. And thanks to great innovations in technology you’re no longer limited to designs made in the 70s and 80s that you can find at garage sales or craft store dead stock. If you have a computer and a printer you can create your own iron-on transfer designs and print them onto iron-on transfer paper and create your own t-shirt designs in your own home.

"Hi, I'm Chris owner of Salon Teez, for Expert Village this is how to create your own iron on t-shirt. These are the items we'll need when actually creating our iron on transfers a t-shirt form made out of card board, this can be found at any art supply warehouse. T-shirts, either white, black, or a particular color that you prefer. This can also be used on tank tops. A house hold iron that will get fairly hot. It should have a cotton setting or linen setting on the iron. Transfer paper, this is indicated by a green line. Where the ink side is actually a little tacky. This typically comes in transfer paper for light or dark garments. If creating a rhyme stone, we'll need a rhyme stone design, typically these can be found at art supply warehouses. Or you can create your own, whether it be a phrase, a particular design. We'll also need rhyme stones, the color of your choice. These can be found at art and supplies stores. As well as sticky back my along paper. One side is actually clear while the other side is white. The clear side has a sticky side that actually holds the rhyme stones. And to create our own transfers we'll need a computer with a printer. The computer should have some sort of imaging software. Which typically will come with most computers. Be a Microsoft picture manager or Microsoft word. The printer should actually be an ink jet printer versus a laser jet printer. "
