How to Quilt a Pot Holder

"Hi, I'm Candi Cane Canncel with Expert Village. So we cut out our pattern for our potholders and we cut out our fabric, batting, stitched the pieces together. Now we get to do the fun part, the quilting. So what we're going to do is take our main fabric and the whole idea for quilting is that you go around a shape with some batting in the back. Then it kind of quilts up so in this case it has a really easy sort of shape to go around so we're just going to pick a bunch of these and sew all the way around so the little leafs and just go kind of in a random free form. You don't have to do every single one but you do want it to look really fun and I also chose to work with orange thread to make all these little circles kind of pop. When we get to our lining fabric we're just going to do these series of lines because these are just to way to small to go in. But we just want it to give it a little of quilting to it. So I'm going to take this to my machine and then just start to sew as you're sewing these circles if you don't feel comfortable just knitting the fabric around. Feel free to go ahead and pick up your presser foot at different points and always make sure that your needle is inside of the fabric before you pick it up and then just keep sewing. I went ahead and quilted a few of the circles on the front now I'm going to do the same thing with the patterns on the back. So I finished with my front and back pieces now I'm going to go ahead and quilt my lining pieces."
