"Hello, this is Jeff Naylor from Mtroniks Engineering in Mesa, Arizona, for Expert Village. Now we're going to remove the power tubes. The power tubes in this particular Marshall are EL34's. To remove the power tubes, we are going to use a towel, and gently press down on the clips with our other hand. Once again, you do not twist, you simply rock and pull up. The reason we use a towel is to prevent ourselves from being burned and it is also to keep the oils from our fingers from getting on the power tubes. If these were new tubes that we were putting into the amp, and we had the oil from our hands on it, it would cause an uneven temperature on the outside of the tubes which will make them fail faster. So it is always important not to let your hand grease get on your power tubes. Now we got all the tubes pulled, in our next segment we'll discuss how to find proper replacements."
