"Hello, this is Jeff Naylor from Mtroniks Engineering in Mesa, Arizona, for Expert Village. Inside your amp you will find two types of tubes, pre-amp tubes and power tubes. The pre-amp tubes condition the signal that comes to your guitar and prepare it for the power amp tubes. The power amp tubes produce the rated power 25 to 100 watts that your amp produces. The pre-amp tubes are your smaller tubes, like this one to the left here, and also this one under the middle cover. The power amp tubes seen here are much larger and held in with these metal clips. Although pre-amp tubes get warm, they're usually not too hot to pull out with your bare hands. Simply pull up on your pre-amp tube. If you have a tube with a metal case you must first push and twist the metal chassis and then pull up on the tube, never twist while pulling on the tube. In our next segment, we'll show you the parts of the pre-amp tube and discuss some reasons for changing them. See you then."
