"Hi! This is Grace Fitzpatrick here on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you about the difference between sewing and gluing when you're making a sock puppet. When you're making your sock puppet there are different ways to attach the various features to your sock. You can sew it or you can glue it. This is pretty much the 2 basic ways that you can attach things. The advantage to sewing with your sock puppet is that your features are going to stay on a lot longer. When you glue stuff it can fall off over time. You have to be a lot more thoughtful when you're choosing the kind of glue that you use. Whereas with sewing, it's very straight forward and your puppet's going to be perhaps a little more durable. Also, sewing isn't toxic like glue can be, so children can do it fairly easily with your help. However, you want to be careful with a needle and thread. The other thing about gluing is you don't have to know how to sew and it's a lot easier and sort of quicker. If you don't care about the other stuff having to with sewing, then gluing might be the option for you. "
