"Welcome to Expert Village. My name is Hugh Murphy with Surf the Sky Paragliding. In this clip, we're going to talk about some of the accessories that you can have in powered paragliding. Actually, the helmet probably shouldn't be considered as an accessory but as a necessity. And, it's definitely one where you want to have a nice comfortably fitting helmet that gives you the protection that you need. To deal with any motor noise it's nice to have ear protection also. The next accessory that if at any time you're over two to three hundred feet you would want a reserve parachute that you can attach to the side of your harnesses. And, these are, will attach to any harness and with a reserve parachute, once you're up two to three hundred feet, there's plenty of room for that to deploy. The other accessories that as far as your motor goes is it's nice to have a tachometer so that you can monitor what your engines doing as you're flying. One of the more fun accessories is to have a mirror, so you can hold it out and actually look at your gas tank, just a small stainless steel mirror. And look at the fuel level as you're flying along. Accessories that are not often thought about is considering the wind chill factor when you're up at altitude. In this case, you're going to want to wear a nice windbreaker jacket and some gloves and enough layers to keep you warm as you deal with a constant wind speed of approximately fourteen miles an hour air speed.
