I think that pets any age are great. You can start very very young I know lots of infants and toddlers really do enjoy watching fish tanks and birds and stuff like that. So you can start very young and move on up. I think it is great to start on early that way they are not afraid and you know they socialize with them. They don't have to have any issues with it later. They really just add something to a child that they don't get to get. Pets adds something to a child's life such as responsibility and a sense of life actually. You know especially if there is deaf in a pet you know if you get a gold fish or something like that. They really get to learn about it early and it is going to much traumatic much later in life for them. They also, it is enjoyment for them to be able to be responsible for something and see what it creates. "
