"Hi my name is Gail Hoffman, and I'm from North Reddington Beach, Florida, and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to demonstrate how to open a coconut. Ok I've got a good heavy knife to use to crack this coconut in half. You know when you buy a coconut; sometimes they will have helped you along. They will have a little bit of a line cut into it, and that can help crack it open. But if not then you just have to put a little more elbow grease into it. So I'm just going to kind of crack along the middle of the coconut. If it cracks in a kind of different spot, then that's ok too. So we're going to stick our knife in there and pry open the coconut. And inside we have what is called the meat of the coconut."
