"Hi! This is Grace Fitzpatrick here on behalf of Expert Village and I'm going to talk to you about designing your sock puppet. Before we start making our sock puppet, we're going to draw on a piece of paper where we want to put all the features. This is going to help and just basically point you in the direction you want to go so you're not doing things randomly and then having a big mess in the end. I'm going to show you a couple of sock puppets that my mom made. I'm actually going to be modeling my puppet today after these. Just to make sure that I don't mess up while making it, I'm going to draw it out first. On the top of my sock puppet, I'm going to make some yarn hair. I'm going to just draw out some pieces of yarn. We're going to talk about how we attach all this in a second. As oppose to button eyes, I'm actually going to use googly eyes, stick on googly eyes. I'm just going to draw those. I'm going to be using a pompom nose. This is really just to get the placement of all your features so you know what you're doing. Then underneath I'm going to make an oval mouth. The difference with mine is I'm going to make a tongue too. It's actually going to be a scary snake tongue like that. Also, I'm going to make a cape. Now we have a nice sock puppet design. We know exactly what we're working with and where we're headed."
