"Now that we've cut our lids, we're able to put them over the top and the bottom of the rain stick. We only want to do one right now because we have to put the rice into the rain stick. It's very important to remember that sometimes, this step, since there's a continuity of cutting the lids and then putting them on with the masking tape. Sometimes, you forget and you end up putting both of the lids on which is obviously a major problem because we still need to put the rice inside. So, just try to remember that we're only doing one of the lids at this point in time in the project. The way we do that is we place the lid right over the bottom of the rain stick and it should sit right onto the bottom because the thickness of the roll will prevent it from going inside, so it should be pretty close to the same, the exact diameter of the paper towel roll. And we let it sit on the bottom and then we take some masking tape and just put it right around the perimeter, around the edge, closing it off and you can put a few pieces on there. We want that lid to stay in place because we don't want pieces of rice falling out all over the place. It's very important that it is held in place securely and then fold the tape down so it just fits right over the end and it's not hanging down. It should create a nice, clean type of seal for the rain stick. Once you've covered the entire perimeter of the circumference of the rain stick, you can go ahead and start putting tape right along the bottom and this way it'll also create a uniform color on the end of the stick which will be totally covered with the masking tape. So, now I've shown you how to place the lid and seal it with masking tape onto the end of the rain stick preventing any of the rice from falling out."
