"Hi! This is Jon on behalf of Expert Village. In this video clip, we will be removing rust. Now if you have a mower where there is lots of rust starting to accumulate on it and you want to try and preserve the life of your mower just a little bit longer, a good thing you might want to do is take a little steel wool and rub it over any of the areas that have rust on it. Now you want to be careful not to cut yourself. Now as you are doing this, you want to be real careful not to cut yourself on any of the metal. If you want to wear gloves, you can wear gloves. But just run that steel wool over it until it smooths it down. You can also use a piece of real fine sand paper if it is really bad just to get through some of that rust and down to the metal. Once you are satisfied with the affected area, go ahead and wipe that off with a rag and clean off any particles that may have accumulated. Next you come back with just a little bit of primer and this is going to help protect that metal. If you are real worried about looks, you can always come back with a little bit of spray paint of the same color. "
