"Hi. This is Rich Buccola here in New York City. And today on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make Hearty Beef Stew. Alright. Today we're going to be working with crimini mushrooms which are excellent for our beef stew. Now what you want to do is you don't want to wash your mushrooms. You want to actually wipe it down with a wet paper towel. You'll see by wiping it down with a paper towel, you'll clean them. You got to realize, mushrooms have a lot of water in them already and if you tend to wash them, they tend to absorb a lot of that water and just fall apart or get bruised. You want your mushrooms to be nice and beautiful. So wipe them down with a nice wet paper towel. Once you have all your mushrooms wiped down, it's time to slice them. Alright. I like to slice my mushrooms long ways so you can actually see the mushrooms like so. You can chop them anyway you want. I just don't like seeing the mushroom as a whole. So what you want to do is just grab your mushroom if you want to do like that, the same way. Just grab it and just slice it long ways and you'll have a nice slice. Slice all your mushrooms. I have about, a little over a pound. But you don't need that much. Eight to ten ounces will be fine. I like a lot of mushrooms. Mushrooms have a lot of flavor and these crimini mushrooms are beautiful. But if you don't, if you can get baby bellas or just regular mushrooms or shitake, they're all good. So come back. Here on Expert Village, we're making Hearty Beef Stew. And it's going to be awesome."
