"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village. I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use when exercising my horse using Calisthenics. Now we are going to do the same thing and bump her hip around to the right. So a little bit of contact on our left rein, we are going to lay our left leg back by our hip and we are just going to push her around. You can see that her front end is staying primarily still and she is just moving her hip around to the front end. Ideally you want to keep their heads kind of straight when you are doing this. You may find when you are starting to teach your horse to do this you may have to turn their heads a little bit to the outside in order to encourage them to fall that way which would enable your horse to teach what you are wanting it to do. It is usually a little bit more advanced, we are able to keep her head straight and push her hip around that way. So you can see when she stops, it keeps her in a little bit of a crescent shape so it would encourage her to push off of this right hind when she goes off to her lope. So that is how you want to bump your horses hip to the right."
