"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village. I am going to show you some tips and techniques that I use when exercising my horse when using calisthenics. What I like to is what we call buttons on your horse. Basically what that is being able to move a certain part of your horse's body based on where you put your leg or your spur. So you should be able to move your horse's front end around just by placing your spur by its shoulder, move it sideways by placing it in the middle or move the hip by placing your foot back by the horses hip. So all of this is what I like to call putting buttons on your horse. It allows you to move certain parts of your horses body just by simply placing a leg where you need to place it and it just helps you get a better understanding of your horse, get better control, get your horse a lot more supple, get your horse more responsive to you, get your horse moving a lot more correctly and it enables you to be able to control your horse a whole lot better especially in show ring situations.
