How to Tame a Banded Horse Mane

"Hi, I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to band my horses mane. Once you have your horse completely banded, one thing that you might want to do is purchase some kind of tamer such as this. This is called a sleazy and this fits over your horses neck. It goes all the way down the length of the neck and it hooks around the belly so this would keep her mane really nice and flat. Keep her from rubbing out her band after we have done this. So this is a great thing to have if you are competing for a couple of days in events and you don't want to have to reband your horse mane everyday. If your horse has more of a tendency to rub its band out, so this would keep them really nice and flat. If you have a horse that has a little bit more of a wild mane, you want to consider having your horse wear something like this for a day or so before your band your horse mane. That would make it a lot easier. Some horse's mane doesn't all lay on one side it has a tendency to kind of flip on the other side or stick up or something of that nature. So this would make it a lot easier for your to be able to tame your horse mane and keep it nice and flat and keep your horse from rubbing them if you are competing multiple days. "
