"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to basic horse care. Another form of exercise that you can do with your horse is lunging. Basically this is a area here it is called the round pen. It is an enclosed area so we have her loose here, we are going to have her run around us here around the outside. One thing that I want to make sure that you know that you need to have your horse trained to lunge in a type of situation like this. So don't go to enclosed area and turn your horse free and expect everything to go well if your horse is not trained to do this. But we are going to have her kind of go around her a little bit. So we are going to have her kind of trot around us here and have her go into a canter. So this is really a great way that you can get your horse to get kind of a leg exercise. Have them run around, have them blow off any steam before you ride them. If your horse is maybe have been stalled for a little while and needs a little bit of time to just kind of run free and do there own thing, so lunging is really a great way that you can get your horse a little bit of exercise if you don't have a area to ride or a area to turn her out in."
