"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques I use on bathing my horse. So in conclusion when you are bathing your horse it is really important to make sure that you go through and brush out any dirt and sweat that might be in crested into their fur, into their skin. To ensure that you get a really nice shampoo. It is nice to have a wash rack, such as this or a place that you can safely tie your horse to give it a bath. You are going to wet both sides with shampoo. The whole body, the tail, and the face and then I like to rinse and scrap and rinse and scrap again just to ensure that we have removed any soap that might be left on the skin that could cause irritation. So after I rinse and I scrap I like to apply a leave in conditioner to my horses tail just to keep all the tangles out and make sure that it is going to comb through. I'm going to go through and apply a coat conditioner as well and then I would like to go through and comb the tail, the mane and the forelock and just brush over the horse coat and face. So by doing this if you give your horse especially in the summer time, you want to make sure that it is a warm environment when you are giving your horse a bath. But this would ensure that your coat stays really nice and shine and clean."
