"I'm Kelli on behalf of the Expert Village. I'm going to share some tips and techniques when bathing my horse. After we've rinsed and scraped off our horse, I like to go back and rinse and scrape one more time. This just insures that we definitely removed all the soap off of our horse's body, especially a horse with really sensitive skin. This is something that you really want to make sure you do because if you do have any soap that is left and dried on the horse's coat it can lead to a dull or dingy appearance to their coat. If they do have a more sensitive skin, it can lead to a lot of itching or irritation. So you want to make sure that you really rinse all the soap off your horse. So again just using the same motion what we'll do is just quickly rinse her down, start at the legs, get her used to the water, then we'll just lightly rinse her. You don't have to do a full blown rinse job, but just give her one last rinse just to make sure that we've loosened or gotten rid of all the soap. So now that we've rinsed this whole side, of course you'll just want to go around to the other side and repeat the same motion. But that's why I like to rinse my horse twice just to make sure that we've removed any excess soap or sweat and dirt that might be left behind"
