"Hi, I'm Kelli for Expert Village. I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to band my horses mane. So something that makes the horses mane a little bit easier to work with and a little bit easier to section, is to wet it. So we are just going to take our spray bottle here and just kind of wet her mane up. Just get it damp, you don't need it soak. But it just helps it stick together a little bit better so you are better able to section it. Then you can kind of comb through it and evenly distribute the water and gets any of the drips out. But when it is a little bit damper, it is a little bit easier to kind of section for you to work with. It just gives it a little bit more grit, a little bit more of something to hold on to. So I highly suggest wetting the mane before you prepare to band to give you a little bit more help section in it. So that is why you would want to wet the mane to help you band. "
