"I'm Kelli on behalf of the Expert Village. I'm going some tips and techniques I use when bathing my horse. So now that we've shampooed her body and shampooed her tail, I'm going to scrub her face just a little bit. Most horses are not really huge fans of having their faces wet or having their faces scrubbed. So you do just want to be nice and calm and gentle. I'm going to use my scrubbing mitt. It just has a little bit of suds on it. We don't want too much because we don't want it to get in her eyes or anything like that when we rinse. So I'm just going to take it, kind of do soft, circular motions, just loosen up any hair that might be loose on her face, any sweat. We'll get the sides of her face here, up into her ears, especially if you ride, from the bridle there always ends up to be a lot of sweat and dirt crusted up behind the ears. Go around to this side. Do the same thing, kind of scrub the ears, front and behind. And get the nose a little bit. You don't want to get soap in their nostrils though, so just be careful of that. Get under the chin. So just make sure you're being really gentle when you're working around your horse's face. They'll be a lot calmer and a lot more willing to have their face scrubbed if you're a little more gentle about it. So that's how you'll want to shampoo your horse's face."
