"I'm Kelli on behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you some tips and techniques that I use to basic horse care. To supplement your horse and keeps its nutrition where you need it to be, you would want to definitely want to supplement your hay either, this is a pallet feed right here. This is a complete pellet feed about 12 % protein. You can also give your horse oats which is a little bit lower in protein or a sweet feed which varies. There are also many different feeds out there depending on the age of your horse, what you do with your horse, what kind of performance you are doing with your horse. Whether you are competing in a lot of strenuous showing or just kind of pleasure riding. So you definitely want to engage what you are doing with your horse, how much activity it is doing in daily basis. How much exercises it is getting, how many calories it is burning, you definitely want to supplement that in a adequate form. So this is complete pellet feed and this is complete fork scoop. So my horse eats this twice a day, everyday. Obviously if your horse is a little bit heavier, you probably would not want to give quite this much food. So that is something that you want to work with your veterinarian and get a good feeding system for your horse to make sure you are not over feeding your horse. But you don't want to underfeed either. So this is how much grain and type of grain that you would want to feed your horse on a daily basis."
