"This is Dan Wolstenholme on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to show you how to dust and vacuum your home. In this section we're going to talk about the dangers of throw rugs in a vacuum. So what you want to do is make sure that you pay extra attention when you're vacuuming around a throw rug. It's always better to pick up the throw rug, take it outside, shake it out and then set it back down rather than trying to vacuum it with an upright vacuum. Or if they're machine washable go ahead and machine wash them. This way they'll come out much cleaner anyway and show you the hazards of what we're going to demonstrate. As you can see by the throw rug getting sucked up into the vacuum brush, it can cause eruptable damage and even break the belt which will cause you more time to finish the job and changing the belt is not a fun task. So always avoid the throw rugs."
