"This is Dan Wolstenholme on behalf of Expert Village and today we're going to show you how to dust and vacuum your home. In this segment we're going to go over prevacuuming maintenance and inspection. So basically we're going to start with this. What you want to do is inspect the cord, make sure the ends are okay. Make sure that the cord when you take it off, that there's nothing that is broken on it, that it's got the case intact, it's not pinched or broken anywhere. And it's always important that you coil it back up and put it back on when you're finished with the vacuum. Store it back where you store your vacuum. What you want to do is also take a look at the bag, just give it, feel it, see how full it is. When it starts to get filled up to about this area, that's about a good time to change it out. You don't want it to get too full because then the vacuum loses its suction power. Also on this vacuum type an upright, you want to flip it over, you can see on this vacuum it has a lot of fibers and debris in there. So what you want to have is a good comb like this so that you can pull them out. Get them out of them before you start vacuuming because it's going to affect the performance of your vacuum. It's not going to clean as thoroughly with that debris in there. That can also be in there really tight and wound up in there so it's helpful to have a knife or scissors on hand so that you can get that debris out of there. "
