"On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is David with Friendly Computers and I’m here to tell you about what is a wireless router. Basically a wireless router is designed to allow you to have a wireless connection anywhere within your house if you have a laptop, a desktop, that just can’t be feasibly possible near where your modem is with a standard router. A wireless router comes in great, gives you that added range that you need so that way you don’t have to be in the office or wherever you have your primary internet connection coming in. You can be out on your patio, out by the pool, sitting up on your couch. Being able to be anywhere really, within your house or if you’re out at a hotel or something like that being able to use your machine there, to where you have that wireless signal. Some of the benefits of the wireless router once again, of course is that you have that freedom to move around. Now here I have a couple of wireless routers with me, ones a Netgear ‘G” class, the other is a Belkin “N” class series. Now our recommendation is the Belkin series routers because of the wider range, the better signal strength. It actually says that you’ll be able to get a signal that’s about as high a quality as if you’re wired directly into a wired router. "
