Summary: Learn how to play an e minor chord on electric guitar in this free video music lesson.
"Hi this is Tom and this is for Expert Village. We're talking about short cuts playing the electric guitar. We've covered two bar chords. The third bar chord is a minor chord. For those of you that are wondering what's the difference between minor and major; minor has kind of a sad or reflective feel to it. This one's based on an E minor. Again, if you've ever taken guitar lessons, an E minor chord is played like this. For rock and roll we put a bar on it. I'm just going to take my index finger, place the across the fret here and then I'm going to use these two little fingers. And, I'm skipping one fret. So you've got your lowest sting and then these two fingers go on the next two strings side by side, and that's it. Press down and you should get something that sounds like this. That's kind of the E minor bar chord. When you're practicing just go up and down the neck. Make sure you get a good ring all the way. The E minor bar chord."
