Art is decided upon by the critics. You can make a painting, draw a charcoal likeness, or arrange a urinal in a museum display as beautifully as possible, but unless your work makes someone think—unless your work reaches others and causes them to find pleasure gazing or reflecting upon it, then it is not art. So, it is in the audience that the painting becomes “art,” and the true artist is not offended by this. What were once religious cave paintings used to appease the gods are now art. What was once a medieval suit of armor used for protection and combat is now art. What was once a spiritual song used to bring peace of mind during captivity is now art. See, it is in the reception of a creation that “art” is born. Otherwise, it is mere stuff.

"Hello, my name is Amitavh Bhattacherji and I am speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. I am representing my company which is Abstract Frame and Supplies Private Limited, based in Calculta. I would like to show you a professional frame, complete in all respects. It is basically a watercolor painting. Now in this frame, there is a very special issue because there are two layers of mounts, it's called a double mount. We use a mechanized mount cutter to cut the mount and you will see that the edges are at a 45 degree angle. It gives an effect of depth in the painting. Regarding the frame I would like to say that this is a synthetic frame, this is not a wooden frame, though it's of the color of wood. It appears as if it has been polished. We are trying to sell synthetic frames so that we do not use wood, which is not available in large quantities, it has to be seasoned, it has to be polished, there is a lot of labor involved and will not be as uniform as you see this synthetic frame is. I hope I have been able to make this point clear. Thank you."
