"Hi this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip I'll be showing you how to lay out our top. To simulate our dresser I went ahead and laid out our sides as to where they might go, once we cut our top we're going to place it up to our side and we're going to tack it in place and use a cleat to hold it. Now since our top sits in between our 2 sides I'm going to take our overall width of 32" and I'm going to subtract those 2 sides which total a 1 1/2". So instead of cutting my top at 32" I'm going to cut it to 30 1/2" that way when I assemble it my overall width will be 32". Now I'm on my cutting diagram I already cut out these 2 pieces and my top piece is going to come out of the corner of those remaining boards."
