"Hi! This is Ed Reyes with Master Builders from Tampa, Florida. On behalf of Expert Village, this is how you use and maintain a miter saw. So basically the complete use of this machine involves your sliders, your back slider which slides back and forth, your angle cut here where you allow the depth of a cut and you have your different angles this way and you have your different angles this way which gives you a compound cut. So if I wanted to make a picture frame, I would go 45 degrees here and cut this and there would be my picture frame. If I were to take a piece of wood and make a turn, then I would go 45 degrees and I would go 22 1/2 degrees and cut this board at a compound cut. Now I have a 45 degree this way and a 22 1/2 this way, same on this side. So now I don't have a 45 that is straight across. I've got a 45 that turns at an angle. And you can do that as many times as you want to make it turn. This saw is great for cutting all types of trim. You can even cut small round pieces. If I wanted to cut a compound here, I could take this and turn it to a 45. "
