"Hi, this is Ed Reyes with Master Builders from Tampa, Florida. On behalf of Expert Village, this is how you use and maintain a miter saw. Now there are certain types of cuts that this saw will make. One of them is called the crosscut. Once again, I can't emphasize enough to wear your safety glasses when you are cutting it. This saw will cut at many many different angles from 60 degrees down to 90 all the way across. We are going to make a 90 degree cut. You hold the board far out as you can with your hand, bring the saw down and cut straight down. The secret is to pull this all up before you stop the blade. There is your 90 degree crosscut. Now there are different angles that you can use for this saw. That was a 90 degree cut. We are going to come across and go to the next stop which is a 22 1/2 degree. This saw is set with different angles that are set and click automatically. First one would be 22 1/2 degrees which gives you your angle at this cut. Notice you always bring the saw up before you stop the blade and make sure it is away from the wood before the blade stops and there is your 22 1/2 degree cut. The next cut would be at a 45 where it automatically locks. Same procedure, start the blade before you touch the wood and stop the blade after you get out of the wood. There's your 45 degree cut. "
