"Hi this is Ed Reyes, from Master Builders in Tampa, Florida. On behalf of Expert Village, this is how you use and maintain a miter saw. Right now I want to talk to you a little bit about safety which is the most important factor when using a power saw like this. The first thing you want to do is you want to have a very good pair of safety glasses that have a edge corner to the side. So make sure you have complete protection for your eyes. I would recommend that you wear them at all times. As far as safety goes, the first thing you don't want to do is have a pair of gloves on your hands when you use this type of saw. For the main reason that while you are cutting if for some reason a piece of fabric or anything else that would get in the way, would get caught to that blade. Of course, it would yank it your hand in and we don't want that to happen. So we purposely don't wear gloves when we are using this type of saw. Safety wise this saw slides back and forth so you want to be careful when it is coming this way because the blade is moving so keep your distance. The best thing that you can do about safety is always be cautious and always be careful and do not be in a hurry."
