"Hi! I'm Robin with trees-mom.com and today we are doing a video for Expert Village on how crochet a wire Christmas bracelet. I'd like to talk about the rubber mallet that we use, or the hammer. After you get your bracelet crocheted, before you add the beads, you need to harden the wire and smash all the stitches so that they're all even. The way we do this is with a hammer, a rubber mallet, or a pair of pliers, needle nose pliers or flat end pliers. You just pound on the bracelet. Usually you put it on a wood block. Pound it with the rubber mallet. It strengthens it. It makes it harder and mashes all the stitches together so that they're not sticking up all over the place. It makes it a lot easier to put the beads and the wire on. "
