How to Make Something Vanish

"Hi, this is Doug on behalf of ExpertVillage.com. This is introduction to sleight of hand using a sleight called the French Drop. Used with any normal object, and here we're talking about a coin. What we've gone over so far, is hand positioning, brining the hands together, doing a steal and a drop. Okay, pulling apart, doing a bit of delay so people don't realize what the last, what the last thing you performed was manipulation with your hands. Asking a question and the next and most important part of course, is the vanish. The point of the trick, right? So again, I like to focus on my hand and almost warm it up, because in their mind, the coin is still in your hand. You can do several different vanishes. You can either blow it away, like magic dust, or you can actually take your hand and almost as if you squeezed it out of the air making a little vanish there. Making the noise helps too, the pop, any kind of thing like that. You're just going to enhance the senses, their eyes, their ears, everything is being involved there. And again, different vanishes even throwing it up in the air, as if it just disappeared. Again, follow with your eyes; fool yourself as if it is magic. If you believe its magic, as you're performing it, so will they. Just practice different vanishes, dropping on the ground, throwing in the air, grabbing in the air or pretending it's invisible suddenly. Just like that. Many different ways you can vanish a coin, putting it in objects, but you want to practice and have a good time. Put your personality into it and most importantly, believe that you are actually vanishing the object and so will they."
