"Now we're going to talk about binding off, which means you are at the end of your project. You are done, this is it. The one thing to remember about binding off is don't get too tight. If you've been knitting at a certain gage, when you bind off and you do it tight, it's going to pull it in tight, so you just have to stay relaxed to the end. Alright, binding off. Generally binding off is done in knit, so let's knit. You knit 2 stitches. There's a regular knit and here's a new regular knit. Here's the trick to binding off. Ready? You take your first stitch, you pull it back over the front and you're binding off. Let's do it again. You have one stitch on the needle here, pick another stitch up, knit, then go back with your needle and pull this over the last one you knit. Sometimes they'll be binding off in the middle of a project if they want you to decrease something or in the middle. For instance, sometimes if you need to make a buttonhole like I did on that little purse I showed you at the beginning. Go back to the button and pull it off, you might of, but generally binding off doesn't come to the very end. We're going back to the beginning and pulling it through. We're doing a regular knit and going back to the beginning and pulling through. One more knit, back to the beginning and pulling it through. Pull that one off. One more knit and we're done with our little messy square that has dropped stitches and holes and all these things that make for a good little demonstration but not for real knitting. Pull that first stitch off. Now, you have one lonely stitch on your needle. What you're going to do is you're going to take however long you need to either sew it together or bind it off. Just cut the yarn you've been playing with, knitting with. I like to pull this out a little so I know what I'm doing. Then take that tail, pull it through the very end, and you are done. We have a square, black, red, and a mess but it's done."
