"Now we're going to decrease. The easiest way to decrease and the way that it's generally taught in the patterns and all the knit shops is to just either knit or purl 2 stitches together. Here are 2 stitches right here. Instead of just picking up the one here, I'm going to go a little further, pick up 2. It's a little heavy on the needle, but don't worry about it and turn the yarn around and pull it through. Let's do one more on the knit. There's 2 stitches, take them together and pull it through. See it's a little tight sometimes because the yarn will get thick or whatever it is. Then here's 2 more. Put the needle through, wrap it around, pull it through. Now, if you wanted to decrease on a purl. Remember purls differ from knit. The yarn's going to be in front of you, so pull the yarn to the front and then pick 2 stitches in the front. Here would be the regular purl, just the one stitch, but we're using the 2 stitches. There's 2, wrap it around and pull it through. Let's do another one. Two stitches, wrap it around, pull it through. Guess what? I like to knit together so I'm going to do this whole row, and let's see how many we'll end up with. We start off with 10, we increase to 15, then we increase to a bit more, and then who knows what we're going to have now because I have stopped counting kind of. 2 more. That was cool. Now we have 2 more. Did you guess how many we're going to have at the end? It's a big secret. See I made a boo boo. I made a boo boo, so all I'm doing is letting it go. I'm not even going to worry about it because it just dropped. Everything is back to where it was and now I'm putting my needles back in, wrap it around, pull it through. That's the 2 stitches. Put it into 2 stitches. To end, sometimes it's a little tight for me, the way I knit. At the end now, how many stitches do I have? I have 2, 4, 6, 8. Wow. 8 stitches. We decreased easier than dieting."
