"Hi! We're going to talk about increasing stitches now. Sometimes on a pattern it'll say increase, and they'll abbreviate that inc. Instead of 10, like 15 stitches, or whatever it is they want. You have to know how to increase. There's a couple of ways to increase. I'm going to do the easiest way first. It's just called a yarn over. What you're going to do is you're going to knit, so we knit like we always do. Stick the needle in, pull it through and around. I'll just knit 2 just so that we don't have an increase at the beginning. You're going to die when you see how easy this is. There you go. Guess what. Yarn over, done. So what did I do? I put the yarn over the working needle, and then we increase. There we go. Now I'm going to knit 2 more and increase again. Usually it will tell you what kind of increase it needs to do. There's a yarn over increase and then there's an increase by knitting in the front and the back, but right we're just yarn over. From there the yarn went over. Knit 1, knit 2, and then we'll just go yarn over. Try that again. Yarn over. All done. Knit 1, knit 2. Guess what. It's time for a yarn over. Yarn over. I know it's really simple. Knit 1 and knit 2. Now I'm going to count for you. How many times did I yarn over? Let me see how many stitches I have. 1, 2, there's the yarn over, 3, 4, 5, 6, yarn over, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14. 14 because I didn't yarn over at the very end, which would have made it 15, right? We now have 14 stitches and we started off with 10. It's a miracle."
