"On behalf of Expert Village my name is Bob Lanning. I'm here to tell you about making a train diorama in HO scale. The train you see running here, with the two vintage diesels, is a railroad that went from Carpdale out to the real world, up to Ash Fork, up to the Santa Fe Railroad across, that runs across from Flagstaff on I-40. This represents the train as it was in about the 1970's era, this would haul the ore out and the various materials needed by the city of Cottonwood, Clayton, whatever it needed in the local hardware stores, lumber, various things like drywall. Now these engines represent the new thing in model railroading which is actually sound. There's a little speaker in there they actually have recorded into the sound chips the actual sound of the, whatever the manufacturer, these happen to be General Motors diesels, you can buy them with the Alco sounds or Baldwin, whoever makes the particular locomotor in there, very realistic sounding."
